OtherHalf is free to download and free to use for everything that matters — building your profile, taking the personality assessment, being matched, swiping, and messaging the people you match with. Nothing on this page is required to find someone. There are no subscriptions. Every purchase is one-time.
Section 01What you get without paying
The core of the app is free and stays free. There is no free trial that ends, and no feature on this page unlocks the ability to match or to talk to someone.
- Your profile — photos, bio, preferences, and Story Time (a photo with a voice clip).
- The personality assessment — all five axes and every question level.
- Matching and browsing — your Discover deck, compatibility scores, and likes.
- Messaging — unlimited chat with everyone you match with. Messages are never charged for, individually or in credits.
- Photo verification, reporting, and blocking.
- Four elemental looks — Air, Fire, Water and Earth each come with a banner, a glow, a font and an Energy Prism palette, free to everyone.
- Level rewards — some card looks are earned by answering more assessment questions. Those are not for sale at any price.
Section 02Buying, restoring and refunds
- One-time and permanent. A feature unlock is bought once and stays on your account. Top-ups (super likes, undos, spotlights) are used up as you spend them. There is no recurring charge and nothing to cancel.
- Payment is handled by the app stores. Purchases go through Apple's App Store on iPhone and Google Play on Android. We never see or store your card details.
- Restoring. New phone or a reinstall? Open the Shop and tap Restore Purchases.
- Refunds are handled by the store you bought from. On iPhone, request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. On Android, use Google Play's Order history → Report a problem. If a purchase was charged but never appeared in the app, email us and we will fix the account. Full details: Refund Policy.
- Prices are in US dollars. Your local price is set by the App Store or Google Play and can differ with local currency and taxes.

Chat icebreakers
Icebreakers are games inside an existing chat. Ordinary messaging is free and does not need any of them.

Section 04Top-ups — used up as you spend them
Section 05Card cosmetics
Cosmetics change how your profile card looks. They have no effect on matching, on who sees you, or on anything another person can do.
Section 06Invite credit
Inviting a friend earns $2 in credit for you and $2 for them when they join. Credit sits in your account and comes off the price of anything you buy in the app, except tips. It is store credit, not cash — it cannot be withdrawn or transferred.
Section 07The tip jar
There is an optional tip jar in Settings for people who want to support the app beyond buying something. Tips unlock nothing, and nothing in OtherHalf is gated behind them. Tips go to the OtherHalf team — they are never sent to another user.
