This page explains how to delete your OtherHalf account and the data associated with it, what is deleted, what is retained and for how long. It applies to the OtherHalf mobile app published by OtherHalf.
Option 1Delete your account in the app
- Open the OtherHalf app and sign in.
- Go to Settings → Account.
- Tap Delete Account and follow the confirmation steps.
Deletion starts immediately. It is typically completed within hours, and in all cases within 30 days.
Option 2Request deletion without the app
If you can no longer access the app (for example, you lost your phone), email us at support@otherhalf.love from any device and ask us to delete your account. Include the phone number the account was created with so we can locate it; we will verify the request before acting on it. The same timelines apply.
What's deletedData removed when your account is deleted
- Your profile (name, photos, bio, and every profile field), your stories and their voice or video recordings
- Your chat messages and the voice recordings (and any earlier photos) sent in them, your matches, swipes, and any undelivered replies you wrote
- Your personality assessment responses and trait scores
- Your purchase history records held by us
- Your support tickets and bug reports, including any screenshots or attachments
- Analytics records held by our analytics provider
What's keptData retained after deletion, and for how long
- Deletion evidence: one log record proving your deletion request was received and honored — kept 730 days (two years).
- Security logs: technical event records (sign-in attempts, account changes; metadata only, never profile content) — kept 180 days.
- Moderation records: if the account was warned, restricted, suspended, or banned, the record of that decision (action, date, reason category) is kept so enforcement remains reviewable and appealable.
- Blocked numbers: if the account is deleted while suspended or banned, a one-way cryptographic code derived from its phone number (the number itself is not stored) blocks re-signup for the length of the suspension, or indefinitely for permanent bans.
- Appeals: appeal messages and the enforcement records they concern — kept up to 730 days.
Full details, including all retention periods, are in our Privacy Policy.
Some dataDelete some data without closing your account
- In the app: you can remove individual profile photos, stories, favorite songs, and profile fields at any time by editing your profile — removed content is deleted from our systems. You can also withdraw photo-verification (biometric) consent in Settings.
- By email: to request deletion of specific data without deleting your whole account, email support@otherhalf.love and tell us what you'd like removed. We will verify the request and respond within 30 days.
